This Self-Build and Conversion Project used practically every product that Heron Joinery manufacture. This beautifully finished house has Traditional Sliding Sash Windows, Tilt and Turn windows, Sliding Patio doors, Internal Sliding doors, Fixed Screens and Doorsets. All windows were triple glazed with a u-value as low as 1.0 – to save energy and heating bills!
All Heron Joinery windows and doors have been tested to comply with the air and water tightness standards required by British Standards – BS 6375. All products are also tested to PAS 24 which means this window can be compliant with Part Q Building Regulations.
It’s worth remembering that except in listed properties, building regulations require replacement windows to have a total window (not centre pane) U-Value of 1.6. For new build, building regulations demand that the ‘Total Envelope Rating’ has a U-Value of 1.8. Heron Joinery windows are available matching or better than the A or C ratings used by BFRC u value ratings; A being the equivalent of 1.4 and C the equivalent of 1.6.
All products were supplied factory finished white – this means that three coats of paint have been applied. Depending on exposure, this will means that these windows will not need to be recoated for ten years. Hand painted windows will need to be painted more regularly.
