Timber Windows are better than plastic Upvc windows!

Its official – Timber Windows are more environmentally friendly, last longer and are better value for money than plastic Upvc windows!

In a report published by Heriot Watt University, timber windows are shown to be the most environmentally-friendly choice and offer the best value in normal conditions. For best value in high-rise and severe exposure conditions, modified timber or aluminium-clad timber window frames provide an environmentally-friendly alternative. In average conditions, timber window frames have a planned service life of 60 years, while modified timber or aluminium-clad timber window frames have a planned service life of over 80 years. The report concludes that all timber-based window frame materials have a lower environmental impact than PVC-U alternatives.
